Jihad comes to Blackpool

This is an ad from the website of MPACUK.org - the Muslim Public Affairs Committee of the UK.

Chilling to know what is going on under our noses in this country.

I leave you to draw your own conclusions from their site.

Good News Day for Prisoner # 09185-016

Waking up on your 7,798th day in a prison cell, there can be few reasons to be cheerful. Especially when no end is in sight.

But for Jonathan Pollard there are two reasons to take heart this morning.

First is the demise of his crucifier, Caspar Weinberger, who expired overnight at the age of 88. The United States justice system convicted Pollard, but many say it was Weinberger who threw away the key.

Ask the average American or Israeli about Pollard and they will say: he was tried for treason against the United States.

The truth is that Jonathan never had a trial, fair or otherwise.
Neither did he commit an act of treason as defined in United States law.

He was encouraged to enter into a plea bargain by powers that were anxious to avoid the exposure of a public trial on issues which would embarrass the government of the day. The person who perhaps stood most to lose from a public trial was Caspar Weinberger whose earlier arms shipments to Saddam Hussain would have been exposed.

Now that Weinberger is in the Beth Din of the next world, perhaps the judiciary down here will now release the secret memo he sent to the presiding judge which damned Jonathan to more than 20 years in jail.

Oh, and the second reason to be cheerful is one of those wonderful coincidences that so often occur in the life of our people. The biggest surprise in the overnight election results from Israel is the stunning success of the almost forgotten Pensioners’ Party in winning 7 seats in the new Knesset. The party is headed by retired Mossad agent Rafi Eitan, who has always had the inside story on this affair and promises to work for Pollard’s release. His new parliamentary privilege will enable him to speak freely on views which denied him his natural promotion to head of Mossad.

In a recent interview, Eitan refuted charges that Pollard handed over to Israel information used to expose American spies in the former Soviet Union. "I’m willing to put my hand in fire and swear in everything dear to me that those charges are a blatant lie," Eitan said.

"Nothing of what Pollard delivered leaked out of the Israeli intelligence community, nothing. Besides, he never provided us with information that could have exposed American agents in the Soviet Union or anywhere else."

Eitan revealed that Weinberger’s secret damage assessment - which sabotaged Jonathan’s plea bargain - was drafted by a CIA counter-espionage department then headed by Aldrich Ames, America’s most notorious traitor. Eitan suggests that Ames was motivated to smear Pollard to deflect attention from his own ongoing treachery.

After Ames’s conviction, everyone – from Weinberger, to Judge Robinson, to President Clinton – would have been aware that Pollard was convicted on tainted evidence. The just thing to do would have been to reopen the case or at least free Pollard unconditionally. But this is not about justice. This is about appeasement of the anti-Israel lobby in the United States that maintains there are too many Jews in high places and that Pollard must remain in his jail cell as a permanent example of the terrible price that must be paid for dual Jewish loyalties.

The truth - as we have seen from the Vannunu affair - is that Jews will sooner sell out Israel than the Golden Medina.

Take heart Jonathan. Your hero’s welcome in Jerusalem is not far off.

Shinui and Sinaa

We are told that the destruction of second temple and our current exile were caused by baseless hatred between Jews. There can be few better examples of baseless hatred between Jews in our generation than this election clip run by Shinui.

Without wishing to detract from its being thoroughly objectionable as a whole concept, the most distasteful part is the appearance of Orthodox Jews disappearing in a puff of smoke. Not once, but several times.

Ironic that such an insensitive stunt should have been staged by a party brought to prominence by Yosef Lapid, a survivor of the Holocaust.

His father and grandmother were not so fortunate. They were burned by the Nazis.

The only grace is that they were spared seeing the hatred and insensitivity that their son would spawn in the freedom of a homeland they never lived to see.

Poll Fiction

It’s just 48 hours to the election but, according to TV’s Channel 10, a quarter of Israelis have yet to make up their minds who to vote for. Amazing therefore that the pollsters seem to know exactly who these people are going to vote for – within the usual 2% margin for error.

In truth, the pollsters haven’t a clue.
And whilst the Arab-loving peaceniks of Ramat Aviv may not have made their minds up whether to vote for Kadima, Labour or Meretz - or whether to vote at all - there is not a single Yesha voter in doubt about who he or she will be voting for. And they will brave rain and rockets to make it to the polling booths.

There will be no voter apathy amongst those who have been brutalised by Olmert and betrayed by Sharon. The settlers will vote against the surrender of our homeland with the same single-mindedness as our so-called peace partners voted in Hamas on a platform to destroy our people.

France Soir

My father used to say: Those who meddle with the Jews will come to a sticky end.

Witness France in the throes of her decline.
A country which has caused more than her fair share of irritation for Israel and shown a callous disregard for the rights and safety of her Jewish citizens who have contributed many times more than their 1% of population to French culture and the national wealth.

No sooner had Chirac extinguished the fires of Muslim riots, there arose the student riots over labour laws designed to encourage businesses to thrive free from unfair employment rights.
But, as usual, France has caved in to the protesters, in keeping with its time-honoured policy of appeasement.

Having lost control of its Muslim population, France has now lost control of its labour laws.
Businesses are sure to fail in greater numbers as a result of the government’s U-turn.
This will result in a loss of foreign investment and less corporation tax to collect.
Add to this the increasing dependence of its Muslim population on social security and unemployment benefit and you have a totally hopeless situation.

The Muslim birth rate in Europe is three times higher than for infidels. If current trends continue, the Muslim population of Europe will nearly double by 2015, while the non-Muslim population will shrink by 3.5 percent. Nowhere is this more acute than in France.

For France’s 600,000 Jews, the writing is on the wall.
If you don’t want to get beaten up in the street or see your businesses go bust … head for home.
Whatever the hardships in Israel, at least there is a future.
For France there is none.

That is the price of serial appeasement.

Final Frontier

Academia strikes again! Two Harvard professors have published a scathing attack on the power of the American Jewish lobby, AIPAC, which they accuse of subverting US foreign policy to ends that are contrary to US interests. (An abridged version of the report can be read here).

The anti-war credentials of these two professors are well known. Whether their motives are also anti-Semitic is an open question. Let’s assume they are not. Let’s assume they are entitled to their point of view that Israel’s struggle should not necessarily be America’s too.

These professors would probably subscribe to the widely held view of common naïveté that without Israel the world would be a better and safer place.

Judging by the pique of their attack on Jewish influence in America, I strongly suspect that at least one of these profs has a Jewish grandmother somewhere in his lineage. (It’s the sort of stuff you would expect to come out of an Israeli newspaper.) If so they might do well to visit Jerusalem and stand where I stood this morning. The Western Wall of the Temple Mount, known to the faithful as The Kotel.

For all of its different names and all the history and mysticism that it stirs up, there is one stark staring fact about that wall that really impacted on me today. It is without doubt the front line in the current war on terror and the clash of civilisations. On our side are the Judeo-Christian values of freedom, equality and the sanctity of life. On the other side lie the fundamentalist forces of oppression, the enslavement of women and the glorification of death in the name of religion.

These professors must be smart enough to realise that throwing Israel to the wolves will only mean the front line moving closer to Europe and the US. Not for nothing do the Jihadists refer to America and Israel as siblings in the family of Satan.

Most striking about the Kotel are the hundreds of notes stuffed between its cracks, each bearing its own special plea for divine help. Sometimes just a simple prayer. Thinking about them this morning, I was curiously reminded of an old Star Trek episode in which the ship encounters a fiery ribbon stretched across the blackness of space. All the instruments go off-scale and, in a flash, the captain and senior officers are ‘beamed-up’ and immediately replaced by doubles. But these doubles are brutal psychopaths; just the opposite of the decent men they had replaced. Meanwhile, the ‘good’ captain and officers found themselves on an identical ship, but one that was filled with consummately evil passengers and crew.

They had interchanged with a parallel universe through a rip in the cosmos. A world where everything was the exact opposite. Love supplanted by hate and compassion replaced by brutality. Bodies filled the decks as the degenerate crewmembers used murder to advance their rank.

Today I felt very strongly that the Kotel represents the dividing line between such parallel universes in our time. It happens that Israel stands at that frontier and that the free world remains safe for as long as that line is held. The Harvard professors are fortunate that they are on the right side of that divide. That is why they enjoy the freedom to write articles, however misguided they may be. That is why their wives are free to work, study and to dress and live life as they please.

And then I think about those notes. All those hundreds of pieces of paper pressed hard into the cracks of the wall. Almost as if to seal gaps through which something evil might escape into our world.

What better way to seal those cracks and insulate us from a parallel universe of hate than with the prayers and pleas of all people who share our simple values.

Jacksons of Judaism

Even on a cloudy and unseasonably cold day, it’s always a thrill to be back in Israel. Especially Jerusalem on a Friday. The best schmaltz herring, smoked delicacies, pickles and nuts can be found in the Haredi streets of Geulah, where I snake my way through jostling crowds for whom the post-Jericho-jailbreak terror alert takes a very low priority compared with the urgent need to prepare for the Sabbath. The unbounded zeal of Friday shoppers and vendors would make you think it happened just once a year instead of every week. Such is the magic of Shabbat amongst our people.

Things are a little different in Geulah this time, with the streets littered with thousands of election leaflets. These ones are for the religious Sephardic party, Shas. However, on my way back through town I am appalled to witness Israeli youngsters campaigning for Arab candidates of the Chadash party. As if it were not bad enough that our government signs away our homeland, must our youth help to vote away our nation’s sovereignty in the Knesset?

I don’t blame the kids. I blame their secular university professors who measure their ‘street-cred’ in academia by the level of contempt they hold for their own people and heritage. I call these the Michael Jacksons of Judaism, who will go to any lengths – even to grossly disfigure themselves – just to disguise the identity of their birth.

That is the true ugliness of self-hate.

I make a stop in Rechavia to drop in on an elderly aunt and uncle, to wish them Shabbat Shalom. But I put too much money in the parking ticket machine. I press the cancel button, but nothing happens and no money comes out. My young son tries some other buttons on the machine, but I say: “Forget it Elliott. Israel is not a place that gives back money.”

“Only land” he mutters.

Life and Death

Whatever the daily death toll in Iraq, Israel remains the true front line in the world war of global Jihad. Each morning my first instinct is to go online and check if Israel has had a peaceful night. Often the news reports I see are less remarkable by their content than they are so incredibly telling in the stark contrast between stories of us and them.

Today is a perfect example.

The good news is that a new treatment for Multiple Sclerosis and other auto-immune diseases has been discovered by a Jewish professor at the Weizmann Institute and is being tested in Ben Gurion University in Beeersheva. Read the story.

The bad news is that our so-called peace partners in the Palestinian Authority have conferred highest honours on the killers of our Jewish women and children.

As you read the horrific account of their heinous killings you realise that what lies beneath all these troubles is demonstrated by the stark contrast between today’s two stories.

Bin Laden summed it up rather well: “They love life …. We love death … That is the difference between our peoples.”

A Purim Lesson for Persia

This may be one of the 700 entrants to the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri’s competition for Holocaust cartoons to avenge the offence caused to Muslims over the Danish cartoons of Mohammed.

I don’t recall that Jews caused the offence or drew the cartoons.
I don’t recall that Jews rejoiced in the offence either.
If anything, it was the enlightened atheists and permissive perverts who defended the cartoons most vocally as freedom of expression.

But still the Jews are blamed. Nothing changes.

So I say to the editor of Hamshahri, to Ahmadinejad and to all the enemies of our eternal nation: If you happen to be passing one of our synagogues today – the festival of Purim – pay close heed to the words of the wise men to another Persian anti-Semite centuries ago. It’s in the Book of Esher, 6:13 (what a coincidence) and reads thus…

"If Mordechai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him, but you will surely fall before him."

And so, in this century, shall you.

Evil Empire II

Here’s a rare glimpse into the evil empire of Iran where a group of women gathered last Wednesday to mark International Women’s Day.

It started off as a peaceful meeting. But in this secretly filmed clip, you can see one of Ahmadinejad’s bearded enforcers- in traditional open necked shirt - giving his Sharia troopers their orders to attack the women.

The next clip shows the shock troopers of the Islamic revolution chasing the terrified women through the streets under a hail of flying batons.

The scenes are reminiscent of the darkest days of Soviet Russia before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Ronald Reagan brought that down all by himself with US trade sanctions. He didn’t wait for the UN or the EU.

Bush can do the same with Iran, which imports 16 million dollars worth of US goods and technology against only half as much in annual exports, mainly of oil. Iran needs the US and western goods more than we need their crude. Let’s cut them off now. The results may be surprising.

I’m not saying they will dump their nukes right away. But they might stop beating up their women.

Ignore the Polls. Enjoy the Ads

Readers of this blog may have noticed that I don’t have a lot of time for Ehud Olmert. If you feel the same way, you should enjoy some of the Likud’s campaign ads which have been airing in the last few days.

My clear favourite shows Israelis being asked the simple question:
“In 40 years of politics, what has Ehud Olmert ever done for Israel?”
Enjoy the answers here.

Other ads deal with the danger to Ben Gurion airport and Olmert’s extreme violence against what are supposed to be his own people.

And of course Peres has to make an appearance.

All the clips can be viewed on the Likud website

Collateral Conscience

Major General Eliezer Shkedy is the OC of the Israeli air force. This week he gave a talk about the "super-human efforts" made by the IAF to prevent the loss of innocent lives during targeted assassinations of terrorist leaders.

He said: “We haven't always been able to prevent harming bystanders, but we must remember that in 2005 one civilian was harmed for every 28 terrorists we hit."

I find that utterly astonishing.

Firstly I was not aware that even 28 terrorists were taken out of murderous circulation by the IAF last year. Kol Hakavod to them for this.

But secondly, the ratio of one collateral loss of life to 28 legitimate hits shows a degree of moral conscience and sensitivity that is perhaps matched only by the professionalism and skill of our pilots.

Samuel had it right.
“And who is like Your people, like Israel, the one nation on the earth.”

Teheran Tish

This has to be the most ghastly tisch in the history of Chasidism. The beshtreimeled leader of the Neturei Kapo organisation being feted by clerics in Teheran who hope soon to makea fiery havdala with our people.

This is almost as crazy as 'punishing' terrorism with the surrender of Jewish land and the eviction of our own people.

Next time our people are brought before the European Court on some skewed charge, I guess we could always plead insanity.

Mel Brooks & Kadima

This week we finally see Kadima’s tough strategy of dealing with the enemies of Israel.

(In case you didn’t know who they were, it’s the guys who have not stopped launching Kassams into our towns and whose understanding of the term ‘cease-fire’ means knife attacks are okay.)

Olmert is getting tough and is playing for keeps. If Hamas does not renounce terror against our people, his Kadima government will take action on the ground and start breaking bones.

Only trouble is, the action on the ground will be our withdrawal from most of Samaria, and it will be for keeps. The only bones that will be broken will be those of our - predominantly religious - brothers and sisters as they were brutalised at Amona.

This farce reminds me of a scene from Mel Brooks’ comedy western Blazing Saddles. To escape from a lynch mob, the black cowboy pulls his own gun on himself and warns:
“If anyone moves, he gets it!” He being himself.

Isn’t that exactly what Olmert is saying to the Arab lynch mob?

Outing the Funeral Plans

Nearly a month after my 11 February blog, many Israelis are starting to bet into the same odds I predicted for a convenient Sharon funeral just before the general election. See Arutz Sheva’s report of today. The good thing is that Kadima’s unelected cabinet will now have to dump the idea. To avoid serious embarrassment, I would guess Olmert must now be praying fervently for Sharon’s survival until well beyond the election date. But then again … no. Who would Olmert ever pray to?

Police Priorities

This London Jewish newspaper reports an incident in which three Asian youths jump out of a car in a Hendon street and start beating Jewish schoolboys with baseball bats. A totally unprovoked attack no doubt incited by the hate-filled rantings of their spiritual leaders.

The paper asks: Where’s our protection?

The answer: It is supposed to be provided by London’s Metropolitan Police.

So, if the police are not doing their job in rounding up these local Jihadist thugs and protecting our kids, who can you complain to?

None other than Mayor Ken Livingstone: Islam’s poster-boy in Europe and the man in overall control of London’s police service through its controlling body, the MP Authority.

For the kind of protection we can expect from Ken, I think our boys are better off packing their own baseball bats.

Besides, London’s police have been far too busy dealing with real crime over the last two weeks; confiscating golliwog dolls from local shop windows in case they cause offence to black people.

Who Said It ?

"With the help of the Almighty, Asaloom Aleikem
Leaders of Hamas, upon your elevation to the position of official representatives of the entire Palestinian people, we offer our blessing and a prayer to the Almighty:
MAY the Almighty guide you and bestow upon you His wisdom to enable you to lead the Palestinian nation according to His will.
MAY the Almighty unite the hearts of the Palestinian people to accept and embrace your leadership with love and good will.
MAY it be the will of the Almighty that we should merit to see the peaceful and speedy dismantlement of the Zionist entity - the state of “Israel” and the transformation of rule over the entire Holy Land, including of course Al-Quds, to its proper rulers, the Palestinian people."

Is this a message from Al Qaeda?
Perhaps the Muslim Brotherhood?
Or maybe the Iranian ayatollahs?
Actually, it’s none of the above.
It’s Rabbi Yisroel David Weiss of the
